A meeting of geniuses: german electronic music wizard Jan Jelinek and swedish drummer, poet, composer and free-jazz legend Sven-Åke Johansson have been working together since 2017, forging new paths along vast, transitional spaces where Johansson’s acoustic timbres communicate with Jelinek’s electronic drones and patterns with the utmost wisdom and assuredness. ’Puls-Plus-Puls’, their recorded output, boasts some of the most fascinatingly fluid and open music which you’ve never heard, music which, while not properly considered “jazz”, has nevertheless total control over its freedoms and actions.
